Far and Away & Sometimes My Backyard

Traveling Is One of My Passions

If offered a free trip into outer space or a lifetime of free international travel I know in an instant which I would choose. Yes the vastness of space is cool but I would rather spend the rest of my life traveling the globe with the help of gravity.

My love for travel began at an early age. When I was 10 years old my maternal grandparents took me and my brother on a summer road trip across the United States. There are so many stories from that adventure that I still remember quite vividly and plan to share from time to time. My passion for travel has grown immensely over the years and my journeys have included much of the United States, some European countries, Thailand and Mexico.

The problem with traveling is that it is an addiction for which I do not have the means to satisfy the constant cravings. It is not cheap to travel and so because of budget restraints I am not afforded to partake in my passion as much as I need to.

Notice… I called it a need, not a want.

Sometimes just to calm the cravings of the ‘travel bug‘ I will explore our backyard and enjoy random weekend getaways. These trips aren’t as elaborate as traveling out of country but can be just as exciting.

An added benefit to my passion, craving, addiction to travel is that it is shared equally by my husband Alan and my teenage daughter, Aliesha.  So, no matter what happens on our adventures, good or bad, each one of us has the ability to appoint credit where credit is due. But since this is my blog, I feel I should warn you the stories and memories may be just a tiny bit bias.

Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen.  ~Benjamin Disraeli
